Walking With Strangers Nature Defined
Walking, I Find, text and photograph on card, 2012
Upon moving to Scotland, I began to take walks and to collect rocks. What was initially an involuntary action soon became a way of encapsulating experience. The collected rocks became tactile markers of memory. By pairing “post-it” sized images of the collected rocks alongside text generated from the site of collection, the resulting objects took the form of postcards addressed to no one, emblems of experience incorporating the separate languages of text and image.
